THE INVASION OF OUR MINDS

The Invasion Of Our Minds
This is the reason why we meditate

Meditation is merely letting the mind settle down:
First, watch the breath.
Experience the awareness of watching the breath.
Rest in that awareness.
Realise the spaciousness and clarity of that awareness.
Acknowledge that this awareness is none other than consciousness itself.
Realising that there is, in truth, nothing other than consciousness, we arrive at pure consciousness. And that is what we are – pure clarity!

Now, we can be aware of the invasion of the mind snatchers! If humanity could look at its inner reality of pure clarity, it would realise that it was free. Free to enjoy a simple life, a fulfilling life and a life filled with love for everything and everyone whom we encounter.

But we still have to be aware that much about the modern lifestyle has become detrimental to our mental and physical health.

When the modern world fills our minds with trivia and our bodies with food of little value, then we cannot think clearly. We worry and stress, and our immune system runs down, making us vulnerable to attack.

Without a clear mind, we cannot acknowledge consciousness, let alone pure consciousness.

Our bodies and minds are too busy trying to cope with the junk and drivel poured into us. Modern life has accelerated this drivel to an alarming degree. People are plugged into music, I-phones, the internet, sports, social media, games, ‘news’ … all of which we fixate upon, and which de-sensitises us to our natural, pure reality. The media spews out drivel every day, constantly turning our attention to this and that, rather than whatever is truly going on. Demonic activity is at work 24 hours a day, lowering both our IQ and EQ (EQ = emotional intelligence = our ability to empathise).

Personally, I think religion is just as culpable in that it exaggerates the formof spirituality, which can misdirect us from our true essence of pure consciousness.

The greatest problem is that we are not aware that we are suffering, because we are kept so busy, captivated by the next piece of trivia.Hey! It’s a jungle out there! So quieten the mind and take back control.

When we recognise that someone else recognises, isn’t it a wonderful relief! 🙂

It’s a jungle out there
Disorder and confusion everywhere
No one seems to care
Well I do
Hey, who’s in charge here?
It’s a jungle out there
Poison in the very air we breathe
Do you know what’s in the water that you drink?
Well I do, and it’s amazing
People think I’m crazy, ’cause I worry all the time
If you paid attention, you’d be worried too
You better pay attention
Or this world we love so much might just kill you
I could be wrong now, but I don’t think so!
‘Cause there’s a jungle out there.
It’s a jungle out there.

Those who create chaos make money from it,
and to make money ‘they’ need to control.
All ‘they’ have to do is get us hooked,
    and that’s easy.

But it’s just as easy to get off the hook.
Just don’t get taken in by the bait!

“Free in the moment of seeing.”

    Morning Tony,

Thanks for the clarifications and for repeating that: “The greatest problem is that we are not aware that we are suffering.” And indeed, it is not without reason, that the understanding of our real condition, the fact that we are suffering, is called the 1st noble truth.

Aknowledging this 1st noble truth (and it is interesting to investigate why “noble” was added to the mix), is a prerequisite to “see” the second noble truth: in that negative karma is responsable for creating suffering. But, negative karma in itself, is not rootcause but effect, it’s the distracted mind, the ego clinging (3td), which is causing the trouble. And so we need to quieten, tame the mind, and take back control (4th noble truth). while, as you said, without a clear mind, we cannot acknowledge consciousness, let alone pure consciousness.

It’s quite mindblowing in itself how rational this approach is. It’s basically a very logical root-cause analysis. a scientific approach, if you will, of the problem and of the resolution of the problem. Hereunder a video which helped me a lot to get a grip on this. Very throughtful, intelligent, and profound. The beauty is that everyone, can investigate this and “see for themselves”.

Ariadne’s thread, comes to mind. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: “Ariadne’s thread, named for the legend of Ariadne, is the solving of a problem with multiple apparent means of proceeding – such as a physical maze, a logic puzzle, or an ethical dilemma – through an exhaustive application of logic to all available routes. It is the particular method used that is able to follow completely through to trace steps or take point by point a series of found truths in a contingent, ordered search that reaches an end position. This process can take the form of a mental record, a physical marking, or even a philosophical debate; it is the process itself that assumes the name”

      Hello Marcel,

It is all about tracing or retracing the steps. That is why there are levels of understanding, we go from one step to another. But there is no jumping or we will get confused or confuse others.

I’m looking at the possibility that the Buddha and Christ took their teachings from the Vedas.

“To see, is to know – not two.”
“I and my father are one.”

But somehow we are taught to see them as separate, me and the absolute. So confusion and constant separation abounds!

      Tony
