THE SECRET LIFE OF EMOTIONS

The secret life of emotions.

You see a wonky picture on the wall. In that very first instance, that is ‘pure perception’- unfabricated pure awareness. The next moment, a judgement comes up: “It should be straight!”

Then anger arises: “It shouldn’t be like that!”

So, from that pure perception which is like a mirror, and is called Mirror-Like Wisdom, anger arises. If we exchange the wonky picture for a wonky person, the anger that arises is even stronger!

Now, here’s the wonderful thing. If you know your true nature, when anger arises and you can catch that first instance of anger, it will immediately reflect the Mirror-Like Wisdom of pure perception. That is the two truths –  relative and absolute – seen as a unity. They are inseparable. One reflects the other: that is the symbolic teacher.

It is the same with all the negative emotions. They each reflect the wisdoms…!

This is so important! It’s worthwhile reflecting upon again and again, as the emotion link to the wisdom Kayas – Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya.
