CALM, CLEAR AND COMPASSIONATE

Calm, Clear and Compassionate.

These are three stage: Calming the mind, bringing about Clarity, and natural Compassion.

Anything that calms the mind and cuts through circling thoughts is the start of becoming a healthy, intelligent human being. It liberates us from material and mental programming.

We have to start somewhere (and this will depending on our temperament and circumstances) in our investigation into becoming familiar with our own awareness. This catalyst could be anything: for me, it was the moment I picked up a foil (sword), and realised there was a stillness within me that had not been experienced before. This lead to meditation…and the sword of wisdom – cutting through concepts!

Through calming the mind, clarity naturally dawns, and we start to see in an unbiased way. We realise we are just a mirror. This doesn’t mean it is totally clear, but there is just enough data for the present moment and the next step. There will be more knowledge coming our way, when we are in the right place at the right time.

When we are Calm and Clear, there comes a point where confidence arises, and we no longer worry about our own progress. With this confidence, we naturally find Compassion.

Compassion is the hallmark of being Calm and Clear. This very compassion is our teacher, as we now feel responsible towards others, rather than merely our own needs. Caring about others more than ourself bring about a recognition that a deeper level of stability is needed to be even more Calm and Clear for their benefit.

Compassion is the teacher.

Compassion is that which recognises the needs of others.

Compassion is no longer puffing our self up.
