No direct experience.
Of course, we may not ‘get it’. We just have to be in the right place at the right time. We also have to be aware of our own obscurations – conceptual ideas and emotions, called klesha, that cloud our view. The direct experience is a glimpse of the end of the book. Now we have to look at our own fixations and attitudes that obscure clarity, so we can sustain the clear view.
This is why we have to do purification practices such as, breathing meditation, insight meditation, chanting, analytical meditation, and supplications.
Now we know what to look for, we can be open to the whole book!
