Knowledge and Imagination.
From an ordinary point of view, knowledge is experience gained from information.
From an extra-ordinary point of view, knowledge becomes wisdom – when one recognises one’s true nature and that of everything else.
From an ordinary point of view, imagination is creating something which may be of material benefit.
From an extra-ordinary point of view, imagination is used for spiritual benefit.
Tantric/Vajrayana practitioners use visualisation of a Deity/Yidam for whom they have an affinity, such as Chenrezig the lord of Compassion. They visualise themselves as the Deity…EMPTINESS IN COMPASSION. The point of this practice is that at death they will recognise all appearances as the Deity/Yidam – their true nature – EMPTINESS IN COMPASSION.
And, because they are practitioners who practise, their minds will not be distracted.
“There is more to the mind, than meets the “I”
