The Buddha’s Teachings are not the Truth.
The Buddha’s teachings
are not the Truth.
The truth is the experience.
The Buddha’s teachings
merely point the way
Holding on to the teachings
(the bells and whistles),
we will never experience the Truth.
The Buddha’s teachings are a boat we use
to get our destination.
Once at the shore,
the boat becomes a hinderance,
as we can’t let go of the lifestyle.
We are unsure whether we have arrived or not.
All we need to do is
get out of the boat to see if we’re on firm ground
and the emotions are no longer in control.
The teachings become a hinderance
to the experience of emptiness.
All the Buddhas can do is
point the way.
