WHY DID CONSCIOUSNESS BECOME ‘HOLY’?

Why Did Consciousness Become ‘Holy’?

Why did consciousness become holy/religious/formalised/ritualised, when it’s not a thing and does not exist – and it makes people act abnormally. 😀

Consciousness is normal.
Being anything else is abnormal.

Consciousness – or, to be precise, pure consciousness – is what we are. It is the essence of all sentient beings. We are not a body and mind; that is just the machine and the programming. It is said that our karmic propensities chose this body, but the passenger is pure consciousness. 🙂

When we sit in meditation, there is nothing ‘holy’ going on, just pure awareness, morally and spiritually excellent. It’s ordinary – neither interesting nor exceptional; commonplace.

Ordinary: from Latin ordinarius ‘orderly’.

If we think that pure consciousness is other-worldly, we are actually off with the fairies, giving the impression of being distracted or in a dreamworld, and behaving in a strange way that is out of touch with reality. So what’s it really all about?

The Direct Pointing-Out Instruction
Into The Essence Of Mind

Pure consciousness – the essence of reality.

When our mind isn’t thinking of anything, we fall into silent vacancy.
This is the state of not knowing, which is also called ‘undecided’ or
‘common indifference’; it’s a mundane state.

Become aware of that which notices this; that is consciousness.

Recognise this thought-free knowingness which is totally open
and does not take sides, but is at one with everything that appears,
like a mirror and its reflections.

This is non-duality; pure consciousness.
It is supramundane.

Resolve that that is your true nature.
There is nothing other than this.
It is the clear light of clarity that dispels darkness.

Absolute truth is absolutely not complicated.
Just morally and spiritually excellent – wholesome and complete.
