Controlling Our Mind
Our minds are cluttered with memories which we are, unfortunately, proud of, equating an efficient memory with intelligence. All we are actually doing is repeating words, which may not be relevant to a situation.
Intelligence is an ability to understand and apply knowledge relevant to a situation. For that, we need a clear mind, or it will simply regurgitate memories which limit understanding and application.
When we stop following thoughts and treat them like guests at the door, letting them pass through but not following them, they leave us alone – and we leave them alone.
If we cannot control our mind,
then thoughts and emotions are doing that for us.
