How We Live In A Dream-Like World
Everything that takes place is only known in the mind. Consciousness (cognisant space of mind) looks out and sees something through the eyes; this is registered by consciousness, and leaves an imprint in the brain (the hard drive). These impressions (the software) remain as memories in the cognisant space of mind.
We – consciousness/cognisant space – perceive things in the mind. If our mind is clogged up with memories to which we cling, everything perceived is mangled up together to fit our preconceived ideas of whatever we see out there. Lost in this state of confusion, we live in the illusion of a dream-like world.
People walk around in their dreams, following predictable patterns, and naming, judging and reacting from that state, thus maintaining the continuity of a dream-like world.
Waking up:
When something suddenly and unexpectedly happens, we wake for a moment but, through habit, we return to our ‘normal’ state where we feel more comfortable because it’s expected and familiar.
Catching the action:
To do this, we need clarity of mind, which is the light that dispels darkness.
Just let go of all ideas, and be aware without expectations.
That moment of clarity is divine luminosity of pure consciousness.
A room that has been in darkness for a thousand years
is illumined in a moment by a switch in attitude.
