CONFLICT IS DHARMA

Conflict Is Dharma

Dharma is looking another way.

This is the age of conflict – the Kaliyuga. There are many teachings out there, but the really practical teaching is within, in our conflicts with the world and others. In practical terms, conflict is progress, and comes from the Latin word, conflictus – ‘a contest’. Walking is the conflict between foot and ground – that’s how we move along. 🙂

When someone disturbs us, we feel something; some emotion arises, causing a conflict which is the moment that creates heightened awareness. That very moment is pure consciousness.

But a habit that has been programmed into us; our self-image comes to the fore and reacts, and a conflict ensues as we mentally stumble through negative emotions. We become confused, angry and competitive.

Mara – or evil intent – creates conflict with everything, and we see this every day in the ‘news’. Mara feeds off our reactions, and has done so for thousands of years. Any ‘book’ people refer to and rely on is a vehicle of conflict that looks like truth; conflict does not sit on a shelf – it’s immediate experience.

Truth is never in the words.
Truth is in the experience and realisation beyond the words.
