Looking At Evil Another Way
Evil is our guardian angel, but doesn’t know it.
What?!
Evil is self-gratification, usually with a belief in a ’cause’. We all have this affliction, but some are more extreme than others. When we see evil in action, we react. This is how humanity has been played for thousands of years because it works. The history of humanity is all about power, deception, and reaction. Evil doesn’t have to be a big news item; it’s reflected in every conversation, being based around what ‘I’ think. We can trust evil because it only has one agenda – creating doubt in the guise of goodness.
Evil cannot help itself; this is why it can never totally succeed.
Evil brings out out the best in us.
The Dharma brings out the worst in us.
🙂
Evil doesn’t realise it is our teacher. Don’t fight it; just acknowledge it for, without evil, we will make no progress as it is our constant reminder, showing us our weaknesses. If we see evil as an enemy, then we have no wisdom, and no confidence.
Goodness, on the other hand, has many levels, so we have to be very careful there too. As we ascend, we find the previous step fishy … “How did I ever believe that?”
Never doubt original, pure awareness that just sees both good and evil.
