We Don’t Have To Agree With Teachers
To say that we don’t have to agree with teachers is not to say that they’re wrong, but that their approach may not suit us.
It all depends at what level someone is speaking; something that may be right for one person may feel like hell to another as it’s too restrictive. Of course, we need discipline, but if we’re disciplined already, we can go nuts.
This is why certain eastern practices may not be suitable for westerners. If something works and clarity is the result, then fine, but if we’re pushing ourselves and just going through a comforting routine, then we need to think again.
One pill (or approach) does not suit all.
That way leads to dogma.
