Ritualising Truth
Creating a behaviour.
When we ritualise a practice, we go into a performance that becomes more important than the silent essence of being. The completion stage is the end of a practice – dropping the act or display that is exaggerated to please the deity. Honestly, it’s nice when it stops. π
Practice is about dropping attachment β¦ to anything. Dropping all attachment doesn’t mean that we don’t care (as some people think). It brings forth unbiased clarity to deal freshly with a situation, rather than acting to type.
When actors are ‘typecast’, they’re cast in the same kinds of role over and over again; we know exactly how they will respond.
Ritual is habit.
Breaking out is letting go of what we think we are.
