Freeing A Limited Mind
Whenever we adopt ideas, this limits the mind’s full potential. The essence of mind is fully aware, pure, empty consciousness – it’s what we originally are, without opinions.
This mind we call ‘me’ is a complexity of ideas – our imagination – and this is our path to enlightenment. Our ideas create confusion, fear, attachment, pride … and recognition of these are our stepping stones to freedom. We still have to deal with our karmic attitude, but gradually we find that we smile at any criticism aimed at us. Then we know that change has occurred.
Everything that we learn is an illusion Every method is a relative teaching; however profound, it isn’t our reality. Our reality is the experience of pure consciousness – pure perception without reaction.
Observing the mind at work is purification. Chanting doesn’t do this, and neither does too much questioning and analysis as these oppose natural experience. In this way, we overcome the illusion we’re in.
Consciousness has to to reverse attachments/desires which cause us to lose control and suffer. The enlightened approach to life is to eliminate suffering through the right frame of mind, which is a clear frame of mind.
We wish to be like a Buddha, free of extremes.
