Holding On To Anger
As we get older, we either refine our understanding, or we hold on to what we think we know. Let’s say there are two sides to a conflict, and we support one or the other. We can either hold on to our view, or just see that some say this, and some say that. Then we ask what the origin of the conflict is – but even then, there are sides.
The history of Earth has always been one of conflict. This is how we understand the Mara effect. Mara is the Sanskrit word for demonic mind, which is within all of us. It’s selfishness, and it feeds off causing conflict. When we cannot put down an idea about something or someone, that is Mara.
We have two sides to us: contaminated consciousness and pure consciousness.
At every moment, we have the choice of which path to take.
When we hold on to anger, we suffer.
When we let go, the relief is happiness.
