Suddenly Not Feeling Wrong
A different approach is realised.
Tibetan Buddhism is unique in its strong, colourful, disciplined tradition, and it’s true on every levels. As in all traditions, each teacher has their own way of expressing these teachings. If the Buddha, Jesus and Krishna sat together, they wouldn’t disagree, but each would manifest to suit that era.
Actually, different teachings or practices suit the students in different part of the world, applying more discipline or less discipline. Sleepy people need more energy, while energetic people need to relax, or they’ll go up the wall š
A moment occurs when we see things differently to our teacher, and we feel uncomfortable. We find we’re also expressing the teachings differently. Are we wrong? It all depends on whether we are making it up, or it genuinely makes sense to us.
One teacher may see the mind as ‘monkey mind’,
while another says it’s a ‘beautiful monster’.
I see it as our precious root teacher or the Buddha,
showing us whatever we’re holding on to.
It is for each individual to investigate what’s relevant,
and persevere until they are shown otherwise.
