THE DIFFICULTY OF KNOWING WHAT IS REAL

The Difficulty Of Knowing What Is Real

It’s not just AI that can confuse us about what is real and what isn’t; the Buddha’s teaching is also a virtual reality. This cannot be said too often.

The reality is not in the words; it is in that experiencing the words.
The empty cognisance between the words is the real deal.

Words are the illusion of reality; they are the expression of what is experiencing.

AI has all the right words. The Buddha has all the right words, but words are secondhand. They’re a translation of another’s experience and, for AI, it’s actually thirdhand. 🙂 The only reality is our raw experience. It’s not something we learn – AI learns everything, but has no experience.

If we aren’t careful, we’ll have no experience,
just acquisitions.

Putting reality into words wipes reality away, replacing it with an illusion. Words are merely symbols, and never the primordial ground of reality. The limits of language define the limits of our world. When we understand, we transcend the word, and the world.

Believing in the word – even the Buddha’s words – is Mara activity.

The Buddha is within.
Mara is without.

Whatever is perceived is the illusion of reality.
The only reality is pure perception.
