WELL, THAT’S ABOUT IT.

Well, That’s About It

There is really nothing more to say; to say more would only be repetition and would weaken the message.

As Shabkar said, “Don’t doubt.”

All there is is awareness. We are pure awareness before all thoughts and appearances.

No one can stop our awareness; they can only distract it if we consent.

That’s why we practise meditation. That is the “work”. The mind can be an obstacle, or a beneficial tool for communicating.

Although the mind is already full of ideas, study does help to clarify connections. We can then scan the mind for inspiration when needed.

Although the nature of mind is emptiness, anything may be created to benefit others. Otherwise, the mind spends its whole time entertaining awareness, and awareness falls into a state of ignorance.

Just be aware.

    Hello Tony

I’ve just read your post from yesterday and wanted to say that I respect and understand the reasons behind the courageous step you’ve taken to stop writing…but…I’m not taking that lying down 😉

For me, it takes many many hearings of something in many many different ways before I begin to really understand it inside out. Maybe that’s just me – but i don’t think so. So being able to read your musings DAILY has been invaluable – call me attached, but I really don’t want to give that up! You seem to be able to take a topic and turn it inside out and upside down and move all the parts around so that it has a fresh face, and that is what is so valuable. And I know you haven’t lost the ability to do that – that’s not why you’re taking a break.

Heard what I said? “Taking a break”. I expect you back after a reasonable absence. I think really that as long as you have people reading the blog – and I presume you have – that means that people find it helpful. And so you should continue. You’re not “weakening” it. Your writing has changed over the time you’ve been doing this blog and you’ve honed and refined your view. You seem to have the kind of creative mind that continually sees things afresh and it’s so valuable that you can pass that on.

Anyway, I’m not letting this one go. I have your email!

    See you soon
    Daisy

      Hello Daisy,

I have been wondering whether to come to a conclusion for some time, “Ah! Is this the final message?” Milarepa’s final teaching to his student was to show his calloused bottom – meaning just get on, practice and find out!

If one keeps going people might think that there is always more to learn, when in fact we know everything we need to know now.

This was also an act of detachment, to let go. However I do enjoy writing, searching for a means to express the inexpressible. As humans we are naturally creative and have a sense of fun.

I’ll ponder your request, and thanks!

      Tony

Tony – I’m so glad you are still around 🙂
“Searching for a means to express the inexpressible” is a pretty nifty way to live one’s life wouldn’t you say? So while you’re busy doing that, I look forward to reading the product of your efforts!
        Thank you again
        Daisy
PS And yes, we may know all we need to know, but like the acorn that’s not yet manifest the majesty of its potential as an oak tree, we need the right conditions, and reading material such as that found here is, for me at least, a crucial ingredient.

Oh, and tell me about the cat… 😉

He was semi wild and used to come down the bottom of a field with me. I think he did more meditation than I did!

Seems we both find a new cat in our lives stemming from odd circumstances…I found this one scared to death and hiding in our shed in December, took over a month to be able to have her come out of hiding when brought food and unfrozen water twice daily . She has buckshot in her face and trouble with rt eye because my teenager/punk/asshole neighbor executed the rest of her family with a shotgun .
She has been inside our house for just over 2 weeks now and is looking healthy, plan on having her fixed and buckshot removed with next months ssi money . She looks like the eqyptian mow we had years ago…….I have come to realize that the british tabby is actually the stolen eqyptian mow breed. religion, cats, you name it and they have stole it and renamed it !

I’ve been waiting for years for a stray cat to decide it wants to spend its life with me.
