“If You Meet The Buddha On The Road, Kill Him”
This can be so easily misunderstood – and is.
It means that if we meet the Buddha (or any deity) on our path of confusion, drop the idea that reality is ‘out there’. The only Buddha we will find is the nature of our own mind.
Believers and non-believers
believe their minds are reality.
Knowers, in realising the Buddha’s wisdom,
do not believe their minds are reality.
