BEING PRECISE IN PRACTICE

Being Precise In Practice

If we are going to tame the mind,
we have to be as precise as we can.

If we are not to do harm,
we have to be as precise as we can.

Focusing on the Buddha’s teachings,
we have to be as precise as we can.

Sloppiness creates fuzzy edges;
essence is out of focus.

Focusing on the empty nature of mind
requires penetrating insight.

If we need a holiday,
have a holy day!

Holy days are simply remembering precisely
not to forget.
