Most People Live In The Past

When we live in the past, we live in a dream world, repeating the same patterns day after day. We may see or argue that the universe was either started by a big bang or created by a deity, but we never consider infinity.

As we cannot fathom infinity, we stick to ideas, all the while missing the present moment. Whatever took place in infinite space is happening now. The only big bang in the present moment is the noise we make about the past. πŸ™‚

The ego sustains itself by constantly replaying memories or projecting futures. The sound of our internal dialogue forms a dream world that masks the raw, silent infinity in every breath.

When we stop trying to intellectualise the infinite, and instead drop directly into the immediate sensory experience of now, the burden of history melts away.

We’re either trapped or free.
If we intellectualise that we’re free, we’re still trapped.
