Little Innocuous Ideas

Little, unfounded, innocuous articles 
are put out to air an idea, 
sow seeds and monitor traction. 

Through the media, an idea is circulated
to see how far it will travel 
and how many will adopt it.

Big ideas start from innocent-looking ideas,
and are then adopted by us.
Where do you think ideas come from?

If we don’t ask this question,
we aren’t looking and so we don’t see.
Manipulation hopes we stay ignorant.

The only thing we can trust is self-monitoring.
Why do I think this or that?
In meditation, we note these flights of fancy.

What is that notes such distractions?
It is consciousness, pure consciousness.
That cannot be taken away from us.
