Trapped In Ego Is Living In Hell
Being trapped in ego is a state of psychological confinement; we are completely at the mercy of our mind. When we (consciousness) are trapped in the ego, we’re in Hell. Hell isn’t a place we go after we die; it is a daily pattern happening right now.
The landscape of the ego’s hell is eternal anxiety – the ego is constantly terrified of its own demise. Lacking true confidence through confusion, we live in perpetual fear of failure and judgement.
This insatiable ghost thrives on wanting. It tells us, “You’ll be happy when you get what you desire”, but once we get it, the satisfaction vanishes, and the torment begins all over again.
Ego becomes the prison warder of time, dragging us into either the unchangeable past through regret and guilt, or into the imagined future through worry. It completely blocks us from experiencing the peace and relief of the present moment.
Because ego views everyone else as ‘other’, it breeds loneliness, interpreting differences as threats, which leads to anger, jealousy, and conflict.
When we notice this, we start to grow up.
