Waking Up Is Disturbing
When we wake up to our true reality of pure consciousness, we see what motivates people: desire, aversion and ignorance. Communication seems impossible because there’s no clarity as they’re still governed by whatever they like, don’t like or choose to ignore.
When we wake up to our true reality, empathetic compassion arises, but the form this takes will depend on the level of our understanding, and our ability to communicate.
Waking up is disturbing because we see the limited world of things we can and can’t talk about, according to social etiquette. Societal interaction never comes to completion as it’s stifled by ritual.
Dismantling the comforting illusions of the collective mind is an enlightening shock, in the sense of being in it but not governed by it. We’re no longer part of the noise.
That constant shock is the price of clarity.
When we step outside the collective mind,
we lose the comfort of shared narratives
but gain mastery of our own insight.
