WHATEVER BENEFITS THE MIND

Whatever benefits the mind.

Most of this blog is written from a Dzogchen perspective (also called Maha Ati): recognising and resting in Empty Essence, Cognisant Nature and and unconfined Compassion (the three Kayas). This view is called Rigpa, which leads to the continuous state of the Kayas: Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya.

This is not to say that this is the only way!

Anything and everything within the whole range of the Buddha’s teaching is beneficial to the mind in some way. There are many traditions in Buddhism, and words may be used differently. There are also many levels within the traditions, and at each level, the same words are used, but the meaning changes.

If the Therevadan approach really works for you, then that is what benefits your mind.

If the Pratyakabuddha approach works for you, then that is what benefits your mind.

If the Mahayana approach works for you, then that is what benefits your mind.

If the Tantra approach works for you, then that is what benefits your mind.

If the Maha Ati approach works for you, then that is what benefits your mind.

If being either Theistic or Non Theistic really works for you, then that is what benefits your mind.

It is all about genuine clarity, compassion, and inner peace. It’s beneficial to understand the many methods, because when meeting the minds of others, we need to know where they are coming from. If we rest in genuine clarity, compassion, and inner peace, maintaining our equanimity, we can allow space for communication to take place at any level.

It’s also important to understand that sometimes we need to call upon different methods to suit our state of mind at that time.

If we find that just being out in the fresh air works for us,

Then that is what benefits our mind!

I can reflect back over time and clearly see that I have created by conscious and subconsciously putting together my personal map/ directory of what I consider the best or most truthfull and usefull beliefs from the many spiritual teachings and styles that currently and previously exist.
Maybe better said, what resonates with and works best for my level of understanding in the present moment, as I navigate through this temporary state of reality/existence, while still aware of my connection/location to past and present eternity.
Being consciously aware of and fully understanding what I just typed… is the “benefit to my mind” !

There is magic in the present moment. The mind needs the benefit of method/language to express itself. Essence which is our pure experience, has nothing to say, but ‘be’. When essence has clarity, the mind becomes our teacher, either revealing reflecting clarity or reflecting obstacles.

It’s funny what you say about typing…when the mind is reflecting, it tells us everything we need to know, at that moment.
