Too Dry Or Too Wet
Some teachers want to be our chum, and some are just about text. Neither of these is the middle way.
A teacher must make sure we get it (unless we aren’t actually listening and just ‘taking in the experience’). They should actively check for our understanding, adapt to the room, and pause when they see blank stares.
Teaching is a two-way street. If a student is just taking in the experience like a passive spectator at a cinema, even the best teacher can’t force the information to stick.
We have to pay to hear a teacher, and a teacher needs an audience that isn’t scared away. 😀
The best thing about not being a teacher is that there are things we can say that a teacher can’t.
