Political Culture And The Dharma

Is the Dharma supporting a culture,
or is the culture supporting the Dharma?
Probably a little of both.

Just be aware that this is happening. We can support a culture and go along with the forms and rituals, but this can become a fixation: we don’t have to go as far as to adopt another’s culture. We need to be aware of what is attracting us.

Is the Dharma more important than the culture?
This will depend on where we are born.

If the Dharma is truly in place,
our culture will change in its own way.

The Dharma tells us what we already are;
it’s not about what someone else is.
