Everyone Displays
Our display is our behaviour – the face we present to the world. The ability to see this display for what it is is the unfolding of an understanding of confusion. Whether it’s a world leader’s speech or a petty comment online, we’re watching the same futile diligence of the ego trying to secure itself in a deluded world.
Recognising display – including our own – is where the real transformation happens. Compassionate x-ray vision sees people not as villains or heroes, but as actors caught in a performance they don’t even know they’re giving.
Evil is just a costume worn by a confused mind.
If it’s all a display, we stop taking it personally.
We can’t be truly angry at shadows on a wall, and this is how we transcend the levels; we move from critic to wisdom.
Constant practice is present in every situation, We never have to go looking for a temple or a teacher as every interaction, every face becomes a page in the book of human potential.
By acknowledging the display in everyone, we are essentially seeing the Buddha-nature hidden behind the mask. We’re no longer looking at a world of costumes and smiles because we know what’s actually underneath – pure compassionate consciousness.
