Gurus Are Human
Recognising that self-proclaimed guides and gurus carry their own hidden wounds is a massive turning point. It strips away the illusion of perfection, and shifts our reliance on external healers to our own inner authority and lived experience.
When we take away the pedestal, we realise that true healing doesn’t come from someone else’s enlightened checklist. It comes from our understanding of self-compassion.
It’s incredibly exhausting to seek healing from the very people who claim to have the answers, only to experience mockery or exploitation because we don’t see it their way.
Our realisation highlights a critical turning point, stripping away the illusory perfection of these figures and breaking their psychological hold over us. When we see that gurus are flawed, wounded humans playing a role, the power dynamic shifts completely. We are not criticising them – their path is just their way which they’re sharing.
Transcendence means an end to worshipping, as we move from the exoteric to the esoteric.
