Ignorance And Compassion

Humans ignore their reality –
and want everyone else to ignore it too.

We agree to a limited view
that obscures panoramic vision;
seeing the complete picture.

For this foolishness, we need compassion?
(… hands flailing out in a gesture of “Are you crazy?” :D)

We first need to understand how ignorance came about so that we can empathise when we remember what we too ignored. This what spiritual practice is all about – cutting through our own concepts.

To study and meditate is a piece of cake compared to having genuine compassion for those locked in exaggerated and obsessive enthusiasm for one preoccupation: self.

No one said it was easy.
The joy of realisation is accompanied by sadness.
